Green complex

Well most people would think clicking grass is a waste of time. Not. I just had this feeling that I would get good pictures of grass if I got close enough. Oh and they had to be macros. I actually lied down to get real close, switched on the macro mode and clicked these. I made sure I was at a leeward angle from the sun so that I got a subtle glow in the blades of the grass. I think a bit of dew would have made the picture even better. I clicked a couple until I got what I wanted. People had begun staring and probably thought I was a lunatic with a fetish for grass. At the end of it I got what I wanted. You have to admit - the grass does look pretty. Only if clicking birds was this easy :-)

Color in focus

This image was clicked in a garden. It was a really simple close up of a rose. I decided to do something more before posting it. Photoshop kicks in - 15 min go by. And you have color in focus.

Blue spikes

I clicked this picture on my cousin's terrace. At the time of clicking I didn't expect it to turn out very well. I just liked the way the dull light was seeping through the spiked leaves of this coconut tree. I played around with the image in Adobe Photoshop to give it the soft blue glow, kind of like a cyanotype effect. It sorta gives a feeling that the picture was taken on a pretty moonlit night. Turns out Photohop can do wonders for your image.

Colorful flight

I saw this bird in the Magarpatta garden. You get to see many birds here because of the presence of 3 artificial water bodies in the garden. "You see water you see birds" This little guy (maybe not all that little) swooped down all of a sudden towards me and didn't give me enough time to adjust my camera settings. That's why I could not get a sharper shot. None the less the photo still turned out pretty decent. The moving background gives the photo a sense of speed. And trust me, this guy was pretty fast - and colorful.

Men in white

I was strolling through the garden in Magarpatta city and clicking snaps of a tower under construction when these two men showed up. The man wearing the shades asked me why I was clicking the tower when it wasn't even completed. Instead of explaining to him I was just killing time I told him I'd be glad to click his snap instead. Thats when his friend smiled and the chap in goggles started waving his hands saying "nako nako" (no no) in marathi. He was also the one who thanked me immediately for clicking the snap. They were amazed that I was wasting film on people I didn't know. That's when I explained to them - "kaka naveen type cha aahe. role taakava laagat nahi" (its new technology; no film needed). I even showed them their snap preview on the LCD monitor. Their faces lit up, and I had a good snap. That was my encounter with the men in white.

Stairway to heaven

This is the ladder on my terrace. The tilt of the same towards the left makes this snap different. This is the same ladder that I climbed as a child, with my sister, with my friends staying in the same building. Although I don't go that often on the terrace now than I used to as a kid, this ladder is like a quick flashback to memory lane. It leads to the top of the water tank, high above from the rest of the crap - and freedom from it all until you climb back down.
